ANC Gauteng Deputy Chairperson Panyaza Lesufi addressed hundreds of community members in a public meeting at Tafeni Park, Ekurhuleni in Tembisa on Friday, 8 March 2019. The public meeting was also attended by Ekurhuleni Head of Elections Jongizizwe Dlabathi, ANC Ekurhuleni Chairperson Mzwandile Masina, Regional Secretary Thembinkosi Nciza, Regional Treasurer and other REC and PEC member. Speaking to the members of the public, he said the party has been engaging with the community on various issues and they have listened and committed to correct the wrongs. This ANC Election Manifesto in which the community and various sectors of the society were engaged into clearly stipulate what is the ANC intending to do after being elected into power on 8 May this year. Lesufi shared some of the ANC commitments with the residents.“The ANC wants to start with what most South Africans complaint about and this job creation, and therefore our commitment is very clear, we want to create sustainable jobs for all people, especially the youth”.
As a result, ANC has taken a decision that all entry level vacancies in government institutions there will be no need for work experience in all vacancy applications so that our people may have access to jobs. These jobs include cleaning, receptionist and many other entry level vacancies. In his address, he also issued a stern warning against government officials and politicians who only employ their families and friends, saying that must end. Everyone must now be in que and apply like everybody else when seeking for employment, and the priority should first be given to local people. The African National Congress is the only political organisation that is capable in running the country. The ANC is committed in ensuring that all citizens receive quality health care despite their material conditions and as a result, ANC will be introducing one medical aid through National Health Insurance (NHI) for all South Africans so that we all can have equal access to health services. This means South Africans will have access to both private and public hospitals and no one will ask you to pay.
“We’ve heard you, most people want houses. ANC has the solution. Any person who’s going register for a house will now use biometric system where a house owner through that system will be checked through this electronic system that he or she is rightful owner of the house. We are tired of building houses that are occupied who are not eligible to them. We dealing with them now and only the rightful owners will get their houses” he said. ANC governmentpromise to continue with the distribution of service stands to the people in which members they will be able build houses for themselves and their families. The service stands will have electricity connectivity and proper sewer system. We also the first political party to acknowledge that the scourge of drugs and substance abuse “nyawupe” is rife in our communities but we must confront the situate head on. These continue to make our communities unsafe. In conclusion, he told ANC supporter and members of the community that ANC is committed in the fight against maladministration and corruption.
