ANC EKURHULENI CAUCUS ACCOUNTS TO DAVID BOPAPE RESIDENTS

As part of accountability to the citizens, the ANC Ekurhuleni Caucus’ commenced its programme with the public meeting where a service delivery performance report was tabled to more than 5000 residents at Faranani Multi-purpose Centre in Tsakane on Tuesday afternoon, 31 July 2018.
The purpose of the programme was to give a service delivery performance report to the residents and maintain an accountable service delivery driven ANC government with the residents.
ANC Ekurhuleni Caucus led by ANC Chief Whip Cllr Jongizizwe Dlabathi embarked on a long week programme called Taking Caucus To The People (TCP) in David Bopape Zone from Monday (30 July 2018) till Sunday (5th August 2018) in Tsakane.
David Bopape Zone covers Tsakane, Geluksdal, Duduza/Nigel, Alra Park and Windmill.
In-line with our manifesto commitment to improve service delivery through visible and impactful programme supported by Capex spending, ANC Caucus conducted oversight on some of the ongoing project in Langaville and Tsakane. Already, 209 service stands are being constructed and will be completed by end of August 2018 (this month). This project will befit the local residents and especially those with form Cs and been waiting since 1996.

Meanwhile, ANC Caucus has issued a strong warning against the illegal occupants of municipal houses in and those who vandalise houses in Ext22. Delivering his service delivery performance to the residents, Chief Whip further warned against those who attempt to occupy municipal land illegal and said our government must act harshly against them.
The housing project in Ext 22 is expected to have 6 200 units, but to date 2591 houses have been completed. Already some members of community from Tsakane, KwaThema and Duduza and more rightful beneficiaries have been allocated houses. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2021. And, the electrification of houses is underway. Early this year, Chief Whip and Exco members visited the area and much of the complaint was that houses had no electricity connection.
Electrification of all informal settlement, construction of 100 00 housing units and provision of 59 000 service stands is part the ANC led government’s local manifesto commitment. This is to ensure and maintain proper accountability in as far as government work is concerned.
On Wednesday, ANC Caucus had stakeholder met with more than 300 leaders of Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) at Umndeni Fellowship Christian Centre in Tsakane. The purpose of this engagement was to share government plans in relation to the land and the church.
